Well, It seems the Rose-breasted Grosbeak has gone. I hope he didn't succumb to the cold or the many local predators (cats and Cooper's hawks), but that may be the price you pay if you don't catch the air-bus to the neo-tropics. I did see an immature Cooper's today, it picked off a male Cardinal. There's been a total of 4 at one time Red-breasted Nuthatches, which is on the high side for my feeders. So its been fun feeder watching, despite the absence of my large-billed friend. Figures, right as I invite everyone over to see him, he ditches.
