I know it's not Ohio, but I just got back from a week in NW Pa., in
Crawford Co. about 22 miles due south of Erie, Pa. I toured the "Hemlock
Hill Biological Research Station" there with Bridget Stutchbury(Wrote "The
Silence of the Songbirds") and Gene Morton. Here's my list:

Merlin- 1
Red-tail Hawk- 5
Kestrel- 3
Tree Sparrows- 7
Song Sparrow- 1
WB Nuthatch- 4
Hairy Woodpecker- 1
Downey Woodpecker- 2
Pileated Woodpecker- 1
Black-capped Chickadee- 13
Wild Turkey- 100+ (Not released, totally wild)
Blue Jay- 4
N. Cardinal- 8
Bluebird- 1
Ring-neck Pheasant- 500(released from Pa. Pheasant Farm; i.e. Red Fox
Winter buffet)
Dark-eyed Junco- 5
Tufted Titmouse- 2

Driving back home to Fremont, on Rt. 2 between Huron and Sandusky, saw 7
separate flocks of Starlings in medium strip, hundreds in each flock.
Visit the "CREATE A WILDLIFE FRIENDLY YARD" site and view the video of a
Peregrine Falcon killing a RT Hawk.
