Received report today from 2 reputable birders that there are 3 trumpeter
swans and 2 mute swans, several species of ducks including common goldeneye,
hooded mergansers, gadwall, bufflehead, mallards, and several more species
at Huffman Metropark.

This post is a little late, but Tuesday at the Englewood North Metropark
area we saw song, tree, white-throated sparrows and horned larks in front of
the park on Old Springfield Rd. Continuing on to Ballenger Rd. just north
of Old Springfield, mockingbird, northern harrier, American kestrel,
white-crowned sparrows (both white- and dark-crowned varieties); white-throated,
tree, and song sparrows.

At the Main Metropark, we have seen pileated, red-bellied, downy
woodpeckers and northern flickers. At the park exit, in the Knoop Prairie across
the road, red-tailed and rough-legged hawks.
