Was out in the garage cleaning out my Blazer when behind me I heard the most beautiful sound I think in birddom . The call of the Pileated Woodpecker. I love these guys . I know it would be a thrill to ever if we could see a Ivory Bill but I got to tell ya ,, I am always in awe of the Pileated's. I looked to the woods and as always ya hear them a lot before ya see them . But I kept watching and soon the pair flew from the woods across the road to a farm with a lot of trees there. I sure am glad they are high flyers as this is right on 501 . Sure would hate to find one as road kill. Have had the pleasure of watching these since 2003. In 2007 found them excavating a nest hole and was able to watch them right up to the day of fledging. Hopefully agin this year I will get to observe them. Russell Lima, Ohio
