Yesterday afternoon (Saturday), I found six adult Black-crowned Night Herons
huddled in the brush on the west bank of the Scioto River across from the
Drake Student Union on OSU's Columbus campus. They are best seen from the
terrace of the Drake Union. As I was headed back to the car I spotted an
adult Peregrine Falcon perched on the top of Morrill Tower (the northernmost
of the twin towers near the Drake Union). It swooped around the tower and
terrorized the robins and house sparrows feeding nearby.
