I haven't seen all that much at Sims Park in Euclid the last few weeks.  Yesterday I only saw three species of gulls and Canada Geese and Mallards.  It looked like ducks very far northeast of the pier but I couldn't find any shore access to get a better view and there was a lot of shimmer.

Today more of the icebergs had melted and in the afternoon I counted 59 Common Goldeneye, 2 Bufflehead and about 7-8 Great Black-backed Gulls.

At Cleveland Lakefront State Park - Wildwood Marina I was able to get good views thanks to Mark Anderson of the male Northern Pintail that has been hanging around there since Christmas.  He has seen both the female and male off and on.  They apparently move around and disappear a lot.  I only saw the male on 1/1/10.  He said it sometimes is in the creek that is nearer the lake.  Today it was on the ice edge near the docks, swam to another area and slept on the ice with the Canada Geese and Mallards closer to the eastern boat launch area until a siren scared it up.  The two resident female Lesser Scaup were also there, several Black Ducks and three Bufflehead.

Yesterday there were 3 male Scaup northeast of the Marina in the lake also with 2 female Canvasbacks.
