A great day for birding. Drove westward to Castalia via Route 2 and returned
via Old Route 2 near Sandusky. Castalia Fish Hatchery was very active with
Bald Eagles and Hawks. Two juvenile eagles soared over the area together for
quite some time. We observed at least 2 adult and possible more. We had
seven different eagle sightings during our hour stay.

Our owl searching came close as we scoped brown movement in a distant tree
hollow about 30 feet up. To our surprise a young raccoon emerged with a very
inquisitive glare.
