JAN. 01, 2010 - Cuyahoga Valley National Park - Monthly Towpath Trail Report.
HIKE: Red Lock south to Botzum Trailhead. TIME: 7:15am-1:30pm TEMP.: 33-30-35-27
COND.: Wind NW at 5-15mph until 8:15am; cloudy with light snow all day, temp dropping.
FT.MI.: 11.0 OBS.: Douglas W. Vogus.

1. Eastern Gray Squirrel - 4 (1 black phase)
2. Eastern Fox Squirrel - 2
3. Red Squirrel - 10
4. White-tailed Deer -15 (doe)
II. BIRDS: 39 SPECIES (plus 1 feral/domestic,1 exotic/escape,1 hybrid)
(NOTE: ?= bird was seen but not sexed; *= bird was heard but not seen)

7. Killdeer - 1 (flyover heading south at Bath Rd. & Rivervirew Rd. intersection)

10. Eastern Screech-Owl - 2 (1 gray phase,1* - called in by voice at old Jaite Paper Mill)
