Yesterday, I ran my usual route at Cowan Lake for eSites and had zero
individuals of zero species. The lake was completely frozen over and there
were snow flurries from the north with temps a balmy 26F. I remember once
reading a CBC report from Barrow, Alaska. Poor guy trooped around in the
dark for about three hours and saw nothing, not even a raven. I never
expected to be in the same position in Ohio.

On a brighter note, we had a very dark Fox Sparrow under our feeders
yesterday and a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk warming its feet on the compost
heap. The temperature in the middle can get as high as 170F.

Cheers,

Bob
