A last minute trip to the Up was productive this weekend. Weather was beautiful but the birds were a little scarce. As stated earlier no crossbills or redpolls but other good birds were found in their place. The Blueberry pale ale and the whitefish dinner at Tahquamenon Falls Brewery was awesome.

Getting up this morning and counting 14 species in 5 minutes outside makes me thankful for all of these little guys who hang out here all winter. I do however miss the fresh smell of the air and evergreens and the overall hush that the woods in the north have compared to cars, airplanes and trains here. Quite a difference.
