I had to make a trip over to Sam Ash over on Morse Rd today down in
Columbus. When I came off of the Interstate, a Coopers Hawk gave me a
quick flyby. It's refreshing in a way for me to see a hawk that isn't a
Red Tailed, or a Harrier. :-) Both of which I also saw today.

I was over on Osborne Rd in Union County when I saw the Male Harrier.
He was doing what they do best, hovering and then strafing the ground.
He cleared the road by inches then dived down into a creek bed and as I
passed was cruising through the creek bed looking for a quick bite.

The Red Tailed was sitting in the trees over on Winnimac Pike over in
Union County, Just taking it all in.
Also Kestrels were resting on the electric wires throughout Union and
Marion Counties ready to pounce on passing rodents.
Horned Larks were EVERYWHERE! Every back road that I took had several
flocks of various amounts. I saw more Larks today than Starlings. I
just wish that Snow buntings had been around.

Pigeons and Doves round off my list for my drive by birding.

Have a great day and I'll see you out there!

she shall be called Woman,
