At the feeders at Dawes Arboretum Feb. 17 - a female red-breasted nuthatch, along with all the usual suspects:

downy and red-bellied woodpeckers

tufted titmouse, Carolina chickadee and white-breasted nuthatch

four sparrows:  American tree, song, white-throated and junco

cardinals

blue jays and crows 

a couple of robins, one picking up suet from under a suet feeder and the other picking at what appeared to be small crabapples.

Missing were the expected eastern towhee and a mockingbird often seen at those feeders.

In my yard, the Cooper's hawk put in her daily appearance, parking in the big maple until crows discovered her and sent her packing.  I also have a pair of Carolina wrens who make a regular visit to the peanut butter log and suet feeders.  

Several birds are beginning spring singing:  song sparrow, Carolina wren, cardinals, tufted titmouse.

I'm seen more robins in my yard the last couple of days than I have all winter.  I have tried feeding them, unsuccessfully.  I've offered grapes, raisins, and cranberries, but they don't come down to investigate the offerings.
