The highlight at E. 72nd St. this morning was an adult male Common Goldeneye x Hooded Merganser cross. When I arrived Ivan Yoder was already looking at this bird - a very sharp-looking fowl indeed. It was perhaps the most active duck present - rarely above water for more than several seconds. I have posted a couple shots here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28939750@N05/?saved=1   Replace the word ‘at’ with the ‘at’ symbol within the URL, if it doesn’t work.

Total gull numbers pretty much mirrored yesterday’s, and cooperative 1st and 2nd-cycle Glaucous Gulls were the only out-of-the-ordinary species sighted.

Good birding -
Gabe Leidy
Cleveland
