Visited the East Lake power plant this morning and in addition to quite a
few Common Mergansers, 8 Greater Black Back Gulls, many Ring Bill Gulls and
a few Coots we saw an adult Bald Eagle out on the ice well east of the
fishing dock ! Wouldn't have been able to identify him without the spotting
scope.

At East 72nd Street we saw many Common Golden Eye, Lesser Scaup, Red Heads,
Greater Black Back Gulls, several Canvas Back ducks, Common Mergansers,
Buffle Heads, one Mute Swan and some Canada Geese as well as lots of Ring
Bill Gulls..

At Rocky River Park Lake Erie was frozen well out into the lake but we HEARD
our FOTS Red Wing Blackbirds. At Brad Street Landing also in Rocky River
saw many Robins - lake frozen way out.

At the Avon Lake power plant were many Common Mergansers, Red Breasted
Mergansers, Hooded Mergansers, Buffle Heads and a few Greater Black Back
Gulls. Some of the Mergansers were perfroming their mating ritual. Oh, did
I mention scads of Ring Bill Gulls ! ! !

Beautiful winter day for birding - temperature about 39-degrees and SUNNY !
! !
