Today I took a loop around eastern Mahoning Co., and was rewarded with a newly-returned killdeer in Coitsville Twp. and 2 yellow-rumped warblers at a reliable wintering spot at Pine L.  Also seen today: Canada geese, mallards, 5 Am. black ducks, gadwall, e. bluebirds, song sparrows, 2 swamp sparrows, and Am. tree sparrows at the north end of Pine L.; 3 n. mockingbirds in Poland/Beaver Twps.; 2 Am. black ducks, bufflehead, and 6 hooded mergansers on the Mahoning R. (Struthers-Lowellville); 10 wild turkeys and a red-shouldered hawk in Coitsville Twp.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
