Greetings... The Least Sandpiper was still on the Great Miami River
gravel bar at Hamilton Riverside Natural Area, Butler County, this
morning. Charlie Saunders, Jack Busam, and I saw it around 11:00 a.m.

Waterfowl numbers were again unremarkable, and seemingly consisted of
the same birds that have been on this stretch of the river for about
two months. One difference was that there were over 130 Ring-billed
Gulls and 6+ Herring. This is the largest number of gulls we've seen
on this section of the river--30 has been our previous high count.
There were also a few American Pipits along the river edge--at least
2, but probably more.

Take care,
---Mike Busam
Butler County, Ohio
