9:30 a.m. to Noon at Spring Valley:
- Purple Martins and Northern Rough-winged Swallows were mixed in with the
Tree Swallows this morning feeding over the pond.
- A few females have joined the male Red-winged Blackbirds.
- Yellow-rumped Warblers profuse, first I've seen at this location this
year.
- One skulking Rusty Blackbird. Always a nice find.
- 36 Coot, 11 Blue-winged Teals, 1 drake Gadwall, 20 or so Wood Ducks,
geese, Mute Swans.
- First trip here in a couple months with no Black Vulture, only Turkey,
though found a few of those at roost on snags.
Bird well,
Paul
