I took a walk at Sheldon's Marsh at mid-day today. There was a flock
of 15 Turkey Vultures soaring near the shoreline; they moved off to
the west when they got higher. Yesterday I saw a single Turkey Vulture
about a mile south of Sheldon's Marsh. Other birds at the Marsh
include the usual: Tree Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, White-breasted
Nuthatch, White-throated Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Song Sparrow,
cardinal, Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbird, Blue Jay, crow,
Downy & Red-bellied woodpeckers, Black-capped Chickadee, Killdeer,
and, of course, Canada Geese & Mallards.
Friday, I saw a pair of mature Bald Eagles in the woods by the eagle
nest on Rye Beach Rd. but haven't seen them since. There was a mature
eagle over the Huron Rive & Route 6 in Huron Saturday.
