I went to Sims Park in Euclid late around 5:30pm today. Was surprised to see more ice than open water. Saturday there was open water with ice, Sunday it was all melted and gone - rather dull. Today there wasn't enough open water to see anything. Saw only one bird of interest:

Golden-crowned Kinglet - 1 in bushes of far east end of park near the parking lot (east of Henn Mansion) and trash cans (first I have seen)

At Wildwood Park (Cleveland Lakefront State Park) on Lakeshore Blvd & E. 174th there was open water with many Red-breasted Mergansers scattered about in most directions. The lake was smooth as glass, looked with scope on west breakwall of marina, but didn't really look from the eastern breakwall where there were more ducks as I wanted to walk around the park including Villa Angela. There probably were other types of ducks. But I was unable to see many new interesting land birds at Wildwood or Villa Angela as it was too late in the day other than a Northern Mockingbird singing in a tree at the mobile home park which is still in Villa Angela.

Returned home to Richmond Heights I noticed what looked like my usual Song Sparrow under my feeder. It has been around all winter so I didn't really think much of it until I thought it looked real colorful today so I looked through my binoculars and saw a FOX SPARROW at 7:20pm (first I have seen)
