Sam Rockwell and I got an early start for Killdeer and arrived around 7:45 
am. Our first bird was a full mature Bald Eagle,and they kept coming all 
morning. We saw 5 in one tree(3 immature)for a grand total of 20,yes 20 
Baldies for the day. It turned out to be a great day for birding!!! Of our 
60 species,here are the highlights:
          20 Bald Eagles
           4 Red Headed Woodpeckers
           9 Northern Pintails
          15 Bonapartes Gulls
           2 American Kestrels
          40 Trumpeter Swans
          20 Horned Grebess
           2 Common Goldeneyes
           5 Dark Eyed Juncos
           4 Tree Swallows
           5 Pied Billed Grebes
          12 Pectoral Sandpipers

Noted absences:Great Blue Heron,Herring Gulls
