I went to Villa Angela and Wildwood of the Cleveland Lakefront State Parks off of Lakeshore Blvd on the east side of Cleveland this morning around 11am. I quickly ran into Mark Anderson and we birded together til 1:40 or so when he had to leave and I stayed til after 3:30pm. Not as much variety as I expected, it was very cold in the morning with winds off the lake and it didn't get much warmer later. The ice kept getting closer to shore. Here are a few of the birds seen:

Villa Angela

Hooded Mergansers - 13 (out in the lake from Villa Angela)
Red-tailed Hawks 2 (immatures)

GREAT HORNED OWL 1 (being harassed by approx 9 crows who were making such a loud noise nobody should of missed it. We were down by Euclid Creek and knew something was up. They chased him to at least six different trees ALL WEST of the main road starting 350 ft north of Lakeshore Blvd all the way up to the main woods to four different locations and ending back closer to Lakeshore Blvd when he disappeared and we were on the tail-end of most of it)

Fox Sparrows 3 (mostly woods north of field (north of library)
American Tree Sparrows 2
Brown Creeper 1
Hairy Woodpeckers 2

Wildwood Area
Red-breasted Mergansers 200 (north and northeast of marina)
American Black Ducks 2
Bufflehead 1 (marina also seen in lake at Villa Angela)
American Tree Sparrow 1
Belted Kingfisher 1 female
