Went to St mary's today to see how things are progrssing there. In the fish hatchery there were 2 greater scaups and a female. Tons of gulls. Usual mallards and canada geese. One American kestrel. When we pulled out and went out by where the feeder damn is, we turned to the south and on the lake right there was 20+ pie billed grebes. first i ever seen a bunch of them. Always usually just a couple together. At Mercer there wasn't as much as I expected. 6 shovelers and some geese. After goin' all around the lake at the marina on the east side went into the park area there and in the first parking area there is a rock jetty there. the bay it formed held a flock of red brested merganser's between 20-30 of them. Back out on the roadway that runs aling the east side of the lake with the fish hatchery on the east side of the road, we looked out and behind the fish hatchery ponds towards town there are some ponds backin there . Thru the trees we could see a lot of ducks back in there. Didn't stop to glass any if them. Russell Lima, Ohio
