Along with this forwarded acknowledgement, and some conversations with other birders who visited the Berlin site late yesterday, the Long-tailed Duck exact count seems to fluctuate; some observers from late yesterday, believe they had more than a count of thirty. Some of the birds are constantly diving, while they are sometimes in different groups. No matter what, it has been an impressive showing. Will it last another day?

Hey Bob

Tim & I were at Berlin about 45 minutes ahead of you and we counted a total of 16 Long-tails. Not as neat as the 30 you had yesterday but still more than I have ever seen at once. Thanks!

Laura
