Rick's Caesar Creek Surf Scoter was observed about noon today from the CC Campground. It was almost at the far shore straight ahead of the boat launch.
Something spooked it and it took off for quite a distance, then returned. I had a clear look at it before it swam beyond sight. It had a chunky look in flight and the sloping head was clearly visible when swimming.
