On South Bass we have been seeing large numbers of American crows migrating
through, 25 Thursday morning, 20 the morning before. Yesterday
(3/5/10)afternoon, I counted 92 crows in one large group moving north at
about 3:00pm from my vineyard on South Bass Island.
While fishing this morning (3/6/10), I heard and saw snow buntings singly or
groups of two at a time heading north over the ice.
Had a small flock of common grackles in my yard today. Susan Harrington
reported 3 red-winged blackbirds at her feeders on February 22.
Although, we still have alot of ice and snow, it is starting to look like
spring!
