Spent the morning at Slate Run MetroPark (SE Columbus) today, and saw 5 sandhill cranes flying from the wetlands. Also, a really gorgeous light phased rough-legged hawk was twisting and turning over the Bobolink Trail harrassed by a crow. Only ducks observed were a few wigeons. Also saw a mole and a muskrat and a couple of pheasant.
Near my house in SW Columbus, found a great-horned owl sitting on a nest that several years ago hosted some red-tailed hawks.
