Thursday afternoon the Magee boardwalk area was full of golden-crowned kinglets with a moderate number of brown creepers.  The highlight was a Louisana waterthrush.  Other observers reported purple finch and winter wren but I missed them.

Ottawa was almost empty - very few waterfowl.  An adult eagle was visible on the nest, which is in a no-entry zone, from outside the zone.

Sheldon's Marsh had a nice selection of woods birds but nothing new from last week.  The marsh itself was mostly mud - the south winds apparently pushed the water towards Canada.

Sandy Ridge had moderate numbers of waterfowl of 10 species, plus pied-billed grebes and American coots.  A Wilson's snipe was winnowing over the meadows starting at about 8 pm, and at least three woodcock were peenting and displaying a little later.  Two owlets were visible in the nest along Otten Rd. and another in the nest next to the trail - keep moving while looking for that one.
