Today on my way out the door to go to work, I heard the unmistakable
"Woody" laugh of a Pileated Woodpecker. Just over the Scioto that is
right in front of my house, there he was. A first for me in
Larue...and I've been here for over ten years.

When I got to work over at East Liberty, a first for the year. A
Chipping Sparrow out in the parking lot where there is usually house
sparrows. And for the first time this year, the vultures were not trying
to take over the woods...perhaps they are starting to spread out...Now
if the geese would do as such. :-D

Quick questions. It seems that spring has sprung a little early this
year. Trillium in Kentucky has already about done...according to my
dad. When last year I was taking pictures of white Trills in mid
April. The tree leaves here seem to be out sooner. Could the warblers
and other migratory birds be a couple weeks early as well?

The other question that I had. Has anyone seen the yellow crowned
herons this year at their traditional nesting area?

Thanks

Steve
