Birded the Hopewell Site off Anderson Station Rd., Just North and West of Chillicothe this evening. Found 32 sps.
Delorme pg. 78 B1
Most of the expected species were present.
A couple observations stood out for me.
The 3 Prairie Warblers were a nice surprise, all singing their "up the scale song".
And on the way out, walking across a large field, a bird flew from almost under my left foot. It was an E. Meadowlark..knowing something more must have held it's attention, I looked back to where it flew from, and could see a small tunnel/hole. A nest with 4 eggs!
Maybe slighty early? But, I took a good look and moved away, so as not to leave anymore scent in the area.
Good data for OBBA 2!
