The Cape May Warbler which has been coming to a feeder
in Hocking County since around Christmas has established a
new record late date for the species overwintering in Ohio. It
was seen on April 1 and I saw it this evening(Friday, April 2).
The previous late date was for a bird videotaped at a feeder
in Logan County in "late" March, 1998. The reddish patch on
the cheek of the Hocking County bird continues to develop.
