Tried to post this earlier but it didn't go. Anyways, I was on my way to lunch today and had just left the nature center when bing! I heard the cheery song of a Cerulean Warbler right out in front of the Nature Center! I skipped lunch to just spend some time with the little guy (anytime for a CERW!), I got decent looks and was able to show a few other people including my fellow naturalists there at the park. Usually he just hung out at the tops of the oak trees there, typical. Other birds at the park today included the following highlights:
Nature Center area (buttonbush trail)
Cerulean Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler - many singing today
Pine Warbler
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers - many pairs at work
Blue-headed Vireo
Warbling Vireo
House Wren
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Dark-eyed Junco
White-throated Sparrows - lots of new arrivals
American Wigeon - 2 birds showed up on the pond behind the feeders at center windows
Wood Ducks

Multi Use Trail along the Creek:
Yellow-throated Warblers - Several singing from the Sycamores
Northern Rough-winged Swallows - working the high banks.
- Good Birding!
