Went to Caesar Creek SP this afternoon. Very, very quite birdwise! The
best bird was an Osprey at Young's boat ramp. There are some extensive
mudflats at Young's boat ramp but I did not see or hear a single
shorebird or plover, and I mean, not even a Killdeer.

The best part of the day was the ponds at the wetlands near the Visitor
Center. As soon as I got out of my car I could hear the American Toads
trilling. There were at least 200 in each of the ponds. I had to be
careful walking around the edges so that I would not step on a toad they
were so numerous. I have never seen anything like this before.
