Birders,

I had an AWESOME weekend around the suburbs in the town of Delaware. This
morning I found 4 singing GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS NE of the intersection of
CR-91 and Township HWY-89. I also had 3 more birds flying around the field,
so possibly 7 individuals were present. I flushed one very small, streaky
sparrow. I only had fleeting glimpses, but cannot see what else it could
have been other than a Henslow's Sparrow. The only possibility would have
been a Song, Savannah, or Vesper Sparrow with the tail cut off. Who knows?
but I'm keeping my ears/eyes out. Then, around some of the corn fields, I
had 7 species of shorebird:

Killdeer- lots
Spotted Sandpiper- 4
Solitary Sandpiper- 16
Greater Yellowlegs- 6
Lesser Yellowlegs- 12
Pectoral Sandpiper- 1
Wilson's Snipe- 12

Good birding!

Sean
