Between 6 and 7 pm yesterday, Sunday, 04/24, there was one Willet at the Herr Road location at Big Island.  John Habig and Rick Asamoto and I stayed in the area after seeing the black Ruff to unsuccessfully look for American Golden Plovers.  As we were standing along Herr Road, I heard a Willet flight call and looked up to see Willet flying from the east of Herr Road west toward the swale with water north of Route 95.  I yelled to john and Rick who also got on the bird.  Later, as Rick, John and I were walking out the farm road in the field west of Herr and opposite the gravel parking area north of Rt. 95, the Willet flew back across Herr toward the wet area and tree line east of Herr Road.  This might be one of the two Willets previously reported by Jack Stenger on Friday, 4/23, in the Big island area.  Jack's report was forwarded to the list by Bill Whan on Saturday, 04/24.  There was a large flock of about 50 Rusty Blackbirds east of Herr in the wet area north toward the tree line.
