This posting is at the request of Don and Judy Koch. Today at the Highlandtown Lake State Wildlife Area in southern Columbiana County, they saw 4 Glossy Ibis at noon and again at 6 PM. The birds were in the shallow backwater, easily visible from the Clarks Mill Road Boat Launch Area. To reach this site from the town of Lisbon, take SR164 south about 12 miles to SR39, turn left (east) and go about 3 miles, just before the school turn left onto Clarks Mill Road, go about 1.5 miles and turn right onto the boat launch road. Park at a pulloff on the left before the actual parking lot. Look for a pile of wooden pallets and scope from here to begin your search. This general area is a great place to explore, Woodcocks are common, Least Flycatcher has nested here.
