I went to the corner of Herr Road and 95, looked in the wet areas north, south, east and west of the intersection and south of the tracks. Had about 100 mixed yellowlegs, then in the larger pool to the west of Herr Road I had some Dunlin, mixed peeps, and both BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and about ten AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER. Also just at sunset an adult Bald Eagle flew past, causing some alarm in the ranks of Green-winged and Blue-winged Teal. Still, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sad about the ruff. Really, I have the worst luck with this species. It might still be around; I didn't search any other areas since I was only there in the evening from about 6:50-8:30. It was a lovely sunset, perhaps the ruff flew away into it.
