4/28/10 I heard a Chuck-will's-widow calling repeatably from a
neighbor's field behind my backyard (New Richmond) tonight just after
sunset. It called for a least 5 minutes while I was putting the
tractor away. The neighbor's dogs started barking, making it hard to
hear. It stopped and did not call again after the dogs started. The
dogs are not far from where it sounded like it was in the field. I
will be going out early in the morning to see if I can get a
recording.
