I checked out some favorite spots near home in NE Mahoning Co. this morning.  Along Gray's Run in Lowellville were red-shouldered hawk, 2 e. phoebes, 3 golden-crowned kinglets, and a singing Louisiana waterthrush back on territory.  I criss-crossed Coitsville Twp. next, birds included: 3 hen hooded mergansers on a tiny pond, red-shouldered hawk, red-headed woodpecker, 4 n. flickers, 2 e phoebes, 6 tree swallows (near nest boxes), e. bluebirds, 6 e. towhees, 3 field sparrows, dark-eyed junco, and e. meadowlark.  Purple finch and dark-eyed junco are being seen at my Poland Twp. feeders.  Craig Holt
