I looked around LaDue for half an hour around 1:00. Modest numbers of
ducks, but I did see a few different species. A handful of red-
breasted mergansers,
19 ruddy ducks, 3 scaup, a couple of buffleheads and lots of a
american coots. One
common loon.

Frohring was lively enough, with a large flock of red winged
blackbirds and lots
of tree swallows, but I didn't find anything new. One pectoral
sandpiper stays on,
and a common snipe flew into view a couple of times.

At the Geauga park property on Franklin Rd, just outside of Chagrin
Falls I saw
6 northern shovelers, along with the usual wood ducks and mallards.

At home yesterday, the first purple finch of the season.

Inga Schmidt
Chagrin River Road, Cuy/Geauga line.
