I stopped by the Flats this morning and the black crowned night herons
were readily visible
from both sides of Merwin St.  There were at least 25 of them.  There
were also three
double crested cormorants.   That was cool enough, but to top things
off there was also
a little blue heron, the first one I've ever seen.  It was right at
the base of the river with
the other herons.
