While Checking the Hopeton Site, just North of Chillicothe last evening, I came across a singing Vesper Sparrow.

While it's closed to the public..this bird is along the main public road in to the gravel company there..he was along the right(North) side along where all the Black Walnut Trees are. With an open field across the road.

The voice tipped me off as a different bird sound than I am used to hearing around here..so, I used the Birdjam to confirm, he came right over to within 30ft of the car on the roadway for a great look!

I will keep checking on him, see if he stays around.
