This afternoon we had three male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks at the seed feeder
in our backyard just north of Westerville (northeast suburb of Columbus).
The unusual thing was that one of the males fed another! Could this be a
father feeding a son? If so, it's certainly too early for this year's
hatch, so it would have to be a father-son combination that migrated north
together. Or did the "feedee" simply steal a seed from the first bird,
although that seems almost as unlikely as the relationship hypothesis.

It's unusual enough to see grosbeaks at a central Ohio feeder, but this
behavior really has us puzzled.
