I am going to try to chase the gallinule after my 3 pm deadline today.... if
birders would please continue posting updates, it would be greatly
appreciated!

Went upstairs to get coffee an hour ago and heard a "drunk robin" song in
the yard... grabbed binos and ran out to watch the first yard appearance of
rose breasted grosbeak this year, when I heard a BLACK BILLED CUCKOO that
started calling nearby! I chased it around the neighboring properties, got
a brief glimpse before I lost it. Played the call on my car stereo to the
entire neighborhood, hoping to draw him in... no joy. A NEW YARD BIRD!
Really disappointing not to get a good look, but exciting anyway! My
neighbors have their own ideas about who is cuckoo around here.
