The UPSP's have been scarce this year with only 4 being seen. However, a
juvenile showed up at the turn around on Industry Parkway Friday.
Other sightings from the area include Trumpterer Swans in the lakes on the
same road for the last 4 weeks. Spotted sanpiper hatchlings are also
running around local lakes.
As a follow up to the Mergs heard on Brushy Fork just before their safe
date, a canoe trip down the creek two weeks later turned none up no
sightings.
A May 28th canoe trip down Cross Creek in Jefferson County turned up a
Blackburnian but a recheck after the safe date was negative. Although I
did see two 15# plus snapping turtles copulating. Scott Pendleton
