I have gone ahead and put my post on the Ohio Birding Forum Conservation Issues site, as requested. I do think that this topic is of such a magnitude that it should not be restricted on any bird-related site, but that is just my opinion. It is especially important to Ohio birders in particular because the Gulf region is where so many of our birds pass through.
