After returning Friday night from a successful 3.5 day trip to Spearfish Canyon in the Black Hills in South Dakota to see the Orange-billed Nightingale Thrush, I looked for shorebirds on the mud-flats and gravel bars across from UD between intermittent showers on Saturday evening. I found 25 Killdeer, 3 Least Sandpipers, 2 Semipalmated Sandpipers and 1 Solitary Sandpiper.
