It was a beautiful morning to be in the marsh
today......................and we did find a few shorebirds.
Lesser Yellowlegs
Spotted Sandpiper
Solitary Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Short Billed Dowitcher
Semi-palmated Plover
Semi-palmated sandpiper
Killdeer

Thanks to Tom Kashmir who was banding shorebirds at ONWR and let us get
an "up close" look at the birds..........
Thanks too to Larry Richardson and Julie Shieldcastle who were on our
walk and added a lot of information.
Not a lot of numbers of anything..............but there's more to come!
Next Saturday August 14th at 9 am there will be another shorebird walk
meeting here at Magee Marsh Bird Center. This is part of the Hike the
Dike series of walks that are held March through November. So come out
and see what is around next week.
Also our area manager tells us that the eastern most unit of Mallard
Club Wildlife area has a mudflat and some shorebirds. Some of this
mornings folks were headed over that way to see what they could find.

Happy Birding!
