I spent a few hours yesterday around the lower end of this reservoir lake in Delaware County, north of Columbus. Early migration was slight except for gulls and swifts/swallows, with only a few notables:

Broad-winged Hawk - 1 at New Galena boat launch. 1-2 of these birds show up around this lake this early nearly every year. This is well-before the main migration of them, and may just reflect wandering from a nearby breeding area.

Larids - large influx of Ring-billed Gulls, with 600+ scattered around the lower reservoir (500+ on the beach). Despite careful searching, I could only add 2 Herring Gulls and 1 Caspian Tern. Interestingly, of all these Ring-bills only about 16 were juveniles (first-years).

Swifts - 60+ swifts in small flocks around the southern end of the lake. This parallels a rise in numbers at Columbus-area roosts.

Swallows - no big movement, but small numbers dribbled south all morning, leading to totals of 20+ Barn, 10+ Tree, 10 Cliff, 4 Rough-winged, 1 Purple Martin

E.Kingbirds - 8 in several locations around the southern end of the reservoir, including 4 at New Galena, probably represents the peak movement of these guys here

Warblers - nothing much, other than 2 Yellow Warblers at New Galena. Common Yellowthroats at several locations were likely second-brooders.
