I visited this location tonight from about 4:30 to 6:30 pm. This is the best shorebird habitat that I have seen close to my home in southwest Ohio (about 90 miles from home). This is the area that Regina Schieltz reports. The shorebirds reported by John and Karen Shrader from yesterday still remain although the numbers have changed slightly. I found the Baird's Sandpiper, but saw it too briefly, after being at the site for about 20-30 minutes. Then I searched for another 1.5 hours and did not find it again. I'm not sure if it left the area or if it hides in the grass surrounding the shallow water and mudflats.

Semipalmated Plover 1, Killdeer 100, Spotted Sandpiper 5, Solitary Sandpiper 15, Lesser Yellowlegs 4, Semipalmated Sandpiper 12, Least Sandpiper 20, Baird's Sandpiper 1, Pectoral Sandpiper 40.

This area appears to be an agricultural field with broken drainage tiles, resulting in the flooding. If the water remains over the next month, the shore-birding could get better.
