I took my kayak up to the boardwalk area today. Saw about a dozen least sandpipers, several pectoral and solitary sandpipers, three semipalmated sandpiers, maybe 8 yellowlegs (greater I think), a common egret, 4-7 great blue herons, couple of green herons, several spotted sandpipers, 3-4 kingfishers, and the usual gulls and cormorants. I kayaked in the bay east of the boardwalk, went past the osprey nest (saw 3 of them), then across to what must be the Wiese Rd. area. The birds were scattered all over these areas.
